Photographers Shoot Then Burn You

The difference between #shootandburn and quality #photographer. It is said photographers can be violent people. They shoot you, then you are framed, then they hang you on the wall. Well, did you know they also burn you? Yup! Some sure do! In the industry we call them ‘shoot and burn’ photographers. They take your picture then burn them onto a cd. That’s all they do. There is no editing or processing (or photoshop). The post processing part of images is what makes them pop, what gives it life.

Usually these types of photographers charge next to nothing prices. Because of these cheap prices, the mentality is,  ‘get ya in, get ya done, get ya out’. They have to have quick turn over to be able to make a profit. Usually, the creativeness of the images also reflects this. If you just need some quick snapshots with everyone in the photo for grandma, this is perfect. Just don’t expect high, hang ’em all over the house quality.

In the world of photography, you get what you pay for. Thankfully there is a wide range of price points, experiences, and quality depending on your needs. For example, boudiour, you may be willing to pay more because of the whole experience; hair, makeup, and beautiful images. I am so sad Rachel Stephens is having to retire! I will get off of that before I start shedding tears. For the family photos, or newborn sessions, the middle ground is usually a great place for most people. You can hang them up, perhaps even have a beautiful canvas of those lovely faces. The goal of photography is not to have a box full of pictures, but to see them, for them to be displayed and enjoyed.

Do you prefer the high-end experience, the simple shoot and burn, or somewhere in the middle?

We rarely have professional photographs done. It's an expense I wish we could afford. So often our family photos are taken by a loving family member or by the good old tripod!

If I could afford photography, I would want someone who would be willing to provide the digital copies so that I could use them to make gifts, family Christmas cards, etc.

Thanks so much for sharing (and for linking up to the #SHINEbloghop)!

    Wishing you a lovely day.
