How to Scrapbook Simply

For years and years I was jealous of those women who could take everyday photos and make these beautiful scrapbooking pages! I’m a simple gal. I love shiney things like the next one, but I don’t want 20 when 2 will do. I tried my hand at this craft when my first was born. It didn’t last long at all! I was overwhelmed with all the possibilities and details. Five pages in, I gave up.

Since buying my big girl camera, I take LOTS of pictures! I don’t want them to stay in computer land where they only make an appearance when a kid has a school project. For awhile I pondered what I wanted to do. I then caught wind of Project Life and pocket scrapbooking. My–life–is–changed! You can be as simple or as detailed as you want. The more I am getting into this world, the more I am letting my creative soul have free range.

I am even venturing into digital scrapbooking to add to my physical book. I have begun a Pinterest board with digital scrapbooking freebies (you can find them all over) to get you started. I am finally getting back in touch with that inner kid who loves to create and make pretty things.

To start, I purchased the Project Life system: a core kit, a binder, and a pack of assorted pocket pages. After a few months, I caught the bug so beware! Need some tips? I have another Pinterest board for how to scrapbook.

After you have purchased the basics, become social. Follow some Pinterest boards for freebies, ideas, and great deals. Then, get on Facebook and find some scrapbooking groups that interest you.

Take out the overwhelmingness (is that a word??), begin simple, and have fun. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Do you prefer digital or physical scrapbooking more?

Hello, I'm following from SITS Girls' Saturday Sharefest! I used to be SO GOOD at scrapbooking when I was right out of college - I have a few books to be proud of, but it's so hard to keep up with because it takes a lot of time! I like the idea of Project Life but haven't tried it out yet. Your layout looks great!

Time is why I love Project Life and pocketbook scrapbooking in general. I'm a simple, busy gal. That layout is as complicated as I get :) You should give it a try!
